SENSORY TREND







A trend is the future. Trend analysis is base on the idea that what has happened in the past gives traders an idea of what will happen in the future. Trend analysis is helpful because moving with trends, and not against them, will lead to profit for an investor.

Sensory trend in my opinion is the Heart of all trends. Now or days there is an increasing desire for new experiences.
Sensory is about sensations, and in trend speaking, is the search of new sensations, feelings…
Sensory have to deal with the five senses: hear, see, smell, taste and touch.

Some companies have a department that works with the marketing looking for the behavior of the clients, the sensations, so they can sell more, or manipulate the results so they can predict that if a product has this or these, them theoretically it will be perceive to be so and so…. In addition, people will like it.

Example of this is Adidas that implanted in the store in Champs Elysee, a machine that allows you to design your new tennis shoes and lately you can try it, and FEEL the shoes on.

Others examples the different options in massage therapy -- a growing trend among patients open to alternative forms of health care or for those just looking to feel better.
Names of news massages: deep tissue, reflexology, shiatsu, acupressure, Swedish and trigger point.

Therefore, sensory trend is looking new ways of giving to the person new sensations and for the companies is a way to get more information more beneficial and useful for new products introduction.

I think that these trend will continue been useful for a long time and it will be combine with another’s trends.
Sensory and health will give alternative therapies or new diet.
Sensory and convenience (coffee industry, give foods all ready prepare, in general food)
Sensory and games: Wii fitness, that allows with a Wii controller give to the person motion sensitive.

A few large companies are conducting consumer research using disciplines and techniques that have their foundation in sensory research.
